The Anzisha Prize Program: Celebrating 10 years of championing very young entrepreneurs

It has been 10 years of supporting and celebrating very young African entrepreneurs and we've amassed some great partners whose visions have merged with ours of showcasing the very best of Africa's youngest entrepreneurs.

As we look back on our shared achievements with our fellows, Anzisha partners and friends, our excitement for the future is palpable. The road ahead is an exciting one and we say 'Sankofa' in the Ghanaian language Twi which means "We have the capacity to revisit the past and extract knowledge and wisdom that we need to remake the future".

Our work will continue to delve deeper and champion the importance of youth entrepreneurship on the continent. Join us as we celebrate 10 years of Anzisha: Looking back to move forward.

What does Africa look like if entrepreneurship is seen as a more viable career path? How can transitions to entrepreneurship at an early age be better supported? These are the fundamental questions that drive our work with Anzisha, which aims to significantly increase the number of job-generative entrepreneurs on the continent.

For more than a decade, the Anzisha Prize has found, supported and championed the stories over 150 very young entrepreneurs between the ages of 15 to 22 across 32 African countries. These stories have inspired countless others to follow in their footsteps, supported by a growing movement of parents and teachers who are actively improving the viability of early-age entrepreneurship. We seek to use our various prizes, programs, resources, and the theory of change to catalyze not only the belief in very young entrepreneurs but the creation of an ecosystem (parents, educators, policymakers, and investors) that supports entrepreneurship as a viable career choice.
